Adrenaline High has two wonderful Barrier Island paddles. One is out of Gargatha and goes to Metompkin Island. The other goes out Folly Creek past a deserted Life Guard Station to Cedar Island. Both are wonderful paddles.
Imagine your group having an entire island to yourselves. We usually meet in Salisbury and van down to the put in boat ramp. We paddle out with the tide for about an hour. We land and beach our kayaks. The guests start some serious shell collecting. Almost everyone comes home with a Welch shell.
After an hour or so of exploring to your hearts content, we meet back by the kayaks and discover a wonderful lunch has been set out by the Adrenaline High owner. The lunch usually has chicken salad, hummus, pimento cheese dip, cold cuts, chips, watermelon, cantaloupe and brownies or pound cake. Most of the guest can’t believe the spread and usually are ready for a nap. But wait, we need to paddle back!
Then we wind our way quietly back thinking about the awesome experience we just had. AH is looking into having rocket launch paddles. On a clear day you can easily see the launch site.
